Description

Nissan Sunny GTI-R, 1993, K, 23000 miles, Super White. MOT until Jan 25. 1 of 103 official UK cars. The vehicle has had 5 previous owners. The first owner was Nissan Motor GB themselves who had the vehicle as an employee car (I have written confirmation) and the car still has its original number plates from Nissan GB’s ownership. The fourth owner had the car for over 25 years.

Available records indicate that this was the first RHD Phase 1b Sunny manufactured for allocation to the UK. UK cars generally had power windows and locking and ABS but this is one of 5 Phase 1b cars that had a more basic specification with manual locking and windows and no ABS. 11 out of the overall 103 UK cars were produced with a similarly lower specification (10 white, 1 black).

At some point the original VIN plate has been lost but I have worked with Nissan and a replacement has now been produced and is fitted to the vehicle. (This is the alloy plate only, the full chassis number has always been stamped into the bulkhead)

Ahead of offering the vehicle for sale I arranged for it to be inspected by a professional engineer who has 40 years experience in the crash repair industry and has been a member of the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors since 1994. (The full report is available to read when viewing the vehicle) He completed a full inspection with access to the underside of the vehicle and also undertook a test of the paint thickness. He assessed the car to be original and rust free. He was specifically asked to comment on the underbody condition and confirmed “... From my examination of the underside of the vehicle, no evidence was seen of any form of corrosion or any previous rust repair work ever having taken place. This was also the case with both body sill panels being considered structurally sound and in good original condition...” MOT records have also never highlighted any corrosion issues.

On his interior inspection he stated “... The interior of the vehicle being also considered in a excellent condition and in keeping with the vehicles considerably low mileage..”

In summary he has stated “... From my examination of the vehicle, which was considered to be in a general excellent and exceptional condition for its age and without doubt being a very genuine and authentic example... I could not see any areas or components that were considered unsafe or of an imminent concern.”

The car is in very nice condition and very close to original with only the brakes being upgraded and the addition of a strut brace.

I have had the car just over a year and have taken it to a few shows but have another classic and it’s proving impractical having both so one has to go.
