This Golf has been looked after with no expense spared on maintenance over the years. Ready to enjoy, runs and drives like a dream with no known mechanical faults, only minor bodywork imperfections to be expected for a 34 year old car.
Not in a rush to sell and serious enquires only please. I would prefer to sell to a Golf enthusiast who can cherish this car for years to come. Supplied new by Arlington Motor Co. (Derby) VW Dealers on the 3rd February 1990 to a Mr CJ Greasley, it remained in his careful care for 23 years until 2013! The new vehicle order form still present in the comprehensive history file, reveals a price of £12, 323 was paid in 1990.
Under Mr Greasley the Golf was serviced and maintained by his local VW dealership (Page Motors, Dorset) and then AAR VW/ Audi Service Centre up until 2013, with over 58 invoices for this time period in the file.
From 2013, it continued to be looked after for the next 7 years by the next owner a Mr Holmes, who serviced & maintained the car with all receipts logged into the comprehensive file. Including a fully documented gearbox rebuild in 2018 and new brakes to the front and rear in 2019.
In 2020 the car was bought buy a Mr B Duffy who bought the car as an investment and dry stored in specialist classic car unit in Hertfordshire for the next 3 years, the car was regularly driven for it's yearly MOT and service and kept in a temperature, dust and humidity controlled facility alongside other classic cars. It was treated to paint correction and ceramic coat to protect the paintwork whilst in storage.
I bought the car from Mr Duffy last year and the car is currently garaged and has been taken to shows including Classics on the Common and Redborne Classic Show in Hertfordshire. In my ownership the car has had it's yearly service + brake fluid and oil change, new battery, upgraded the original 30 year old Clifford alarm system with a new Clifford G5 alarm, was also MOT'd last month and passed with no advisories.
The original VW Dealer blue document holder is also with the car that contains all the owner's manuals, instructions pamphlets. All keys are present along with the very rare 16V key blade protector and metal key tag. All glass is original and security etched with the registration, and retains the original dealer plates.
A change in personal circumstances forces the sale, i will be very sad to see it go.
