Triumph T140LE Royal Wedding Special
Extremely low mileage, just 2044, genuine Royal Wedding Special, number 70 of just 125 US spec bikes made. It is completely original and unrestored. It was built to commemorate the marriage of Lady Diana Spencer and Charles, then Prince of Wales. With only 250 units ever made, 125 UK spec and 125 USA spec they are extremely rare to find and even rarer with this exceptionally low mileage, there are little touches around the bike that show it has never been restored or messed about with in any way, it is completely original as it came out of the factory. Triumph manufactured these rare models in 1981 to coincide with the Royal Wedding that took place on the 27/ 07/ 1981, this particular Bike was not actually registered until 1982 as stated on the V5. I have a lot of old Mot’s showing the mileage very slowly increasing over the years up until 2001 when it had 1893 miles on it. It was then in a private collection and unused until 2013 when it had its last Mot at 1906 mile, since then it has been on display in a motorcycle shop and not been used again. It has now been recommissioned and has a new Mot showing 2044 miles. When the new owner registers it as a historic vehicle as it’s over 40 years old, it will have vehicle tax exemption and Mot’s are no longer needed. The current Mot was done to show everything works as it should. It has it’s original plaque on the frame, saying, Mfd. by Triumph Motorcycles in celebration of the wedding of the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer, 29th July 1981, Limited edition No. 0070, Vehicle No. T140ESHDA30723. It has also retained it’s Royal Wedding fuel tank and side panel emblems. It also has the original Owners Manual, “The Bonneville Royal Limited Edition” two sets of both keys, ignition and steering lock, the tool kit that has never been opened and a certificate showing the limited edition number. It also comes with a Classic Bike magazine from April 2000 with a big feature on the US spec Royal Wedding, it’s on the front cover to with the words “The Most Beautiful Bonni Of Them All”
As previously stated, it is unrestored and so has a few age related storage marks and some of the lacquer on the fuel tank is yellowing. It is both. Kick and Electric start.
