I found this little Lotus in a garage in Catford 2 years ago. It had not moved in 15 years. It was a real eyesore.
I bought it from the owner's daughter. I took pictures and videos that chart its revival. I have replaced so many parts. This car is the naturally aspirated version. A total of 3, 855 M100s were ever made of these 126 non-turbos, this is one of those. The rarest colours are beige, brown and white.
I have bought all the parts I needed to bring this future rare classic back to life. The engine has had a major overhaul with cambelts and auxiliary belts and tensioners replaced. It was a specially fitted white interior from a specialist interior fitter for Lotus at the time of purchase. This car has had so many parts fitted with brake discs and pads, the list is indeed impressive. I have all the invoices and videos and pictures to support my description. The reason for selling it is I have just got an Alfa Romeo 75 Twin spark (The Last True Alfa Romeo) barn find and that is my favourite car of all time. I had one and had to sell it back in 92 due to a second baby (that baby is a married man with kid of his own now) Ironically this car is a 1991 but was sold new in 1992

This car was bought for an MD's wife initially and one of her employees bought it from her and the lady I bought it from simply bought it from her work colleague she drove it once a year and then parked in her garage and left it there. When I saw it, it was in a very sad state indeed ( There are photos to prove it). I can give you all the pictures from my first sighting to its first start video after 15 years it started on the button to its restoration to car meetings. The moment I drive it out, it becomes a magnet for well-wishers telling me what a lovely car it is. When you park it up it simply attracts folks to look at it and take pictures with it. If you like attention this Lotus is for you. This white Lotus Elan M100 with its embossed Lotus seats and carpets and its statement looks does remind you of the cross-over years when sports cars like these became affordable to the working man and woman. Its claim to fame when it was produced was it was Lotus' first ever front wheel drive car and its handling is superb. I have never taken it to its driving limits as I simply poodle around posing.
