Description
This is an unrestored, original and incredible GTA V6 Turbo, with low miles, low owners and extensive history from new. The word 'unrepeatable' is over-used but this may be close.
The bodywork is clean and straight throughout, with one very small minor crack seen at the end of one bumper. The paintwork is bright and original.
In the past two years it has had the beautiful turbine alloys refurbished and four new tyres. Various minor bits and pieces have been attended to when needed.
All recent work has been done by Alpine Autos in Kent, one of the countries most knowledgeable specialists in Alpines.
The drivers door mirror does not adjust electrically due to a broken plastic fitting, however a complete N/ O/ S GTA mirror is included should someone wish to make the repair.
Mechanically the car is all good, it drives and handles as would be expected with the low mileage.
Interior is completely original, including the amazing - and great sounding - 1980s HiFi! It has the full leather interior option, with no rips or tears and very little wear. There are a couple of nicks on the steering wheel and around the ignition key area. The car was optioned with ABS.
Coming with the car are all of the original owner packs, service books and operating instructions. It also comes with the original and rare GTA advertising material, dealer branded brochure, plus some original Renault gear gifted by the selling dealer. The car has a full history from new.
This GTA was sold in summer 1989 by Merchants, the local Renault dealership a few miles up the road which was one of the 25 Renault garages originally authorised to sell the GTA.
The first owner was Reginald Godin of Rotherfield, about 3 miles from its current home. He owned the car for many years, eventually passing it on to his son, Anthony Godin who kept the car until 2020.
Mr Godin had ordered the to be supplied 'de-badged' and hence the usual Alpine stickers on the rear were not applied. These are however included in the book pack!
The history file contains the original order invoice and pre-inspection sheet. It also includes some amusing handwritten complaints to the selling dealership about their response time to some repairs.
The car was sold to Stuart Brady in Brora in 2020 and was stored in the Hanger 96 dehumidified classic car storage facility. Stuart moved to New Zealand and the car was sold in 2022 to the present owner back down in Kent. The car lives in an Airchamber as part of a classic car collection.
In the history file are many invoices from new and over its life, 20 MOT certificates and a service book with 8 stamps.
