Welcome to Bee’s listing, a Volkswagen Beetle 1300 registered April 1973(L) in Bath finished in Texas Yellow and, she has been historically registered making her both tax and MOT exempt. I will state now please do not make offers over the phone, you must attend in person to view the car (evenings and weekends). This is a 51 year old car and, I want to ensure you are completely happy with her prior to any “deal” being made.
I feel I need to make clear that Bee is most definitely an entry level Beetle in terms of paint, she does look fabulous in the photographs but, she has imperfections in pretty much every panel and, they’re all consistent with her 51 year age. There is evidence of previous repairs too which make her a great candidate to be an entry level classic. She’s a running and driving car and, receives compliments wherever she goes.
I’ve had a life long affinity with Volkswagen’s and, as my father owned Beetles during my early years, owning a Beetle was a question of when, not if. Sadly my reality is I cannot cope with driving her due to high levels of pain caused by an ongoing health condition, due to the level of pain I experience, I have been limited to driving her locally. I bought Bee with my heart and, I’m truly gutted to be writing this article but, I know if I keep her she will just live in the garage. I purchased Bee from a family of enthusiasts and, fell in love with her straight away. She had been stood for a short time when I purchased her so, I knew my first jobs were recommissioning work.
She's had:
Professionally refurbished Solex 31 Pict 3 carburettor.
Replacement fuel hoses.
Replacement fuel filters (in tank & in line).
Accuspark Coil
Fuel Pump
Steering damper
Brakes Bled & fluid changed.
New voltage regulator.
I’ve also gone through all of the grease points. Bee does have a small crack in her windscreen, I understand this occurred over a decade ago but I have sourced a replacement.
The following items will be included with Bee based on the full asking price:
Replacement genuine VW screen.
Accuspark electronic ignition system includes new HT Leads, Dizzy and spark plugs.
Complete gasket set
Engine oil (I may have changed the oil prior to your viewing).
Replacement front anti roll bar bushes.
Bee is a running and driving 51 year old car and, the list of parts above far exceeds any “offer” in value I’d be prepared to take so, please treat this as full asking price only.
