Bought from California Classic Porsche car judge and curator in 2005. The car belonged to a Nascar Team manager, that undergo a full restoration in 1995 and installed a last generation 616/ 6 endurance racing engine (original matching numbers engine is available with the sale).
Since its acquisition, the current owner has carried out an extensive and documented restoration and conversion to period-correct racing modifications, including: Engine refurbishment and internals' modification, increasing the displacement to 1800cc with racing crankshaft and connecting Carrillo rods, dual 38 Weber carburettors, electronic ignition and electric fuel pump, custom handcrafted Sebring-type exhaust. Oversized wheels and tires, improved Bilstein suspension, Nardi wooden steering wheel, electrical system, transmission and complete brake system among others…
The exterior modifications (completely reversible) include: Original Hella fog lights, leather strips on the front hood, GT racing-style rear engine louvered cover lid, custom rally-style fuel filler cap accessible from the outside, GT rear-view mirror.... everything period correct as were done in the 50s
In 2010 it was also repainted in the Porsche period correct Blue. The paint has acquired a noticeable patina over time that gives it a special character.

In addition to the engine in the car, it is also delivered with its original “Matching numbers” engine as well as several other engine and body elements and a complete set of 4 additional wheels.

1996 was entered in the famous Colorado Grand 1000 mile race. Drove there for 500 miles, putting on the numbers to do the the rally and returning home traveling another 500 miles without mishaps….(as vintage racing drivers used to do)
In 1998 car was flown from US to France where got FIA certification from the International Automobile Federation and then took part in the 57th Tour de France Optic. (Racing pate goes with the car)
