Welcome to the sale of my 1987 Porsche 944S 2. 5 16V 'Ventiler'.
I have owned the car since June 2020 and it has been my sunny weekend driver having covered only around 4, 000 miles in 4 years.
143, 000 Miles
MOT Expires 21/ 08/ 24
Although I will add a new MOT for the right price, it will pass as it has only covered 1, 000 since previous test.
13 Former keepers 9 of which were before 1999.
Starts, runs and drives great, solid car throughout with a great amount of history. Has to be Seen. A real head turner!!
Full engine rebuild in 2023 with invoices. The rebuild was due to a head gasket fault but whilst the head was off extensive work to the top and bottom end was carried out including:
Piston rings
Bottom end bearings
All belts
Water pump
Head gasket and head skim
Main oil seals and gaskets
Newman fast road cams
The list goes on.
A full overhaul.
Lots of modifications with thousands spent:
CCW LM5 genuine 18" 3 piece wheels from America; 12. 5J rears and 10. 5J up front.
30mm spacers all round.
Michelin pilot sport 4 tyres with lots of tread, stretched to hell. Fronts like new.
KW coilovers with adjustable dampening. (It is a hard ride and not for the faint hearted but drives lovely when you find a smooth road).
Gaz camber adjustable top mounts.
Strut brace.
Stainless steel 'cat' back exhaust. (Sounds great).
No CAT.
Magnacore leads.
Newman fast road cams.
K&N air filter.
Front lower splitter.
Broadfoot widebody kit from America (cost thousands alone including shipping duties and spraying).
Inner arches are cut neatly but left open, these could do with some work if the new owner prefers.
Custom wooden gear knob.
OMP genuine steering wheel and boss.
Rear lights tinted red but can be removed.
Some poly bushing underneath.
Rollhard sunstrip.
Bluetooth head unit.
De-wipered rear window (will come with wiper and mechanism)
Billet throttle cam.
Clutch and Steering Rack replaced in 2017.
Steering rack still makes the occasional noise and has a very minor leak but works fine.
Large Folder of other invoices, receipts, 28x old MOTs, old sale receipts, old tax discs, Reg transfer details. Also Service Manuals and Parts Catalogue.
Whilst it is in relatively good condition this is a classic Porsche so you will need to love it and be willing to invest in it's up keep.

Not so good points:
- Central Locking, drivers side recently stopped working, passenger side doesn't work either, can hear it but doors don't unlock, manual with key works fine. Assume a simple fix but it's never bothered me.
- Drivers seat, height adjust switch broke off, needs replacing.
-The dashboard does have small cracks around the vent holes, common problem, it’s not too bad and hasn’t been getting worse as the car is always covered.
-Driver’s side door mirror, left and right electrical adjustment doesn’t work.
-It is a 37 year old car, there are a number of paint defects and marks and some of the paint has been touched up but these can only be seen close up with nothing major to mention. The worst bit being the roof which has some lacquer peel from being covered throughout the winter months and rust starting to bubble around the top of the windscreen.
- A few other minor things I may have missed I will add if I remember.
Part but extensive Service History
Weekend viewings welcome. No group viewings. Proof of insurance before any test drive.
Thanks for looking. The Porsche 944 is becoming a real desirable classic that stands out from the rest. Bag yourself a great example before they get too expensive.
With the car approaching 40 years old you can soon benefit from tax and MOT exemption.
It really is a great looking car with noticeable but tasteful modifications. Has to be seen to.
