Description

2003 Jaguar XJR X350

4. 2 Supercharged V8 400bhp

69, 500 miles

Midnight Black Metallic (the right colour for an XJR!) with beautiful two-tone ivory and black interior with grey maple wood trim.

Japanese Import

Amazing spec including:

19” alloys (better for our wonderful roads…)
Sunroof
Heated seats front and rear
Parking sensors front and rear
Radar cruise control (fully working)
Electric everything – seats, headrests, steering column, adjustable pedals
Soft close boot
HID lights
BC racing coilovers

Condition-wise the car is excellent, having recently benefited from the following;

Fully refurbished wheels
4 x Falken Azenis FK520 tyres
2 x Upper rear suspension arms (Lemforder)
2 x Rear drop links (Febi)
Air suspension replaced with coilovers (BC racing J73TA BR series – not a cheap kit!)
Full 4 wheel Hunter alignment

The car rides really well on the new suspension, and it is fully adjustable for height, pre-load and damping so gives lots of options. Damping is adjusted from the top of the shocks, accessible from the boot (access flaps in carpet) and from under the bonnet. In softest setting it is comparable to the standard ride you get with the air suspension. When I got the car the two front shocks had seen better days and I took the decision to fit coil overs rather than replace to do away with the complex air suspension to futureproof it and make the car more useable (you’re a bit stuck if an air shock goes and drops the car to the deck in the middle of nowhere). All the air suspension componentry is present (bar the front shocks) and the car can be converted back if desired – it was fully functional when changed, compressor, control module, air lines etc all ok. No warning lights with suspension removed (benefit of X350 – unplug the module and no warnings).

Mechanically, the car is superb. The engine purrs as a Jag should and pulls like a train. No smoke, no fluid use or loss, no leaks. Exhaust etc. all in good condition (if a little quiet – I did intend to upgrade it to unleash a bit more V8 noise but have never got round to it).

Brakes are strong and car pulls up well, no wobbles, fading or issues, lots of life left in pads and discs.

Car rides and drives beautifully, quiet and refined and plenty of get up and go when required! No untoward noises, no knocks, clunks or rattles from suspension or anywhere else. Everything does what it should do and everything feels nice and tight.

All electrics work, radar cruise, climate, heated seats, dimming mirrors etc all fully working as it should be. A/ C is nice and cold. Interior is in great condition, the leather and wood is all in good condition with no damage. The headlining has been fully replaced so none of the usual Jag drooping headliner.

The car is a Japanese Import, imported in 2019 and consequently the underside is in excellent condition. The X350’s don’t ‘rust’ in a conventional sense as they are aluminium bodied, but the subframes are steel and do rust – these are in great shape as you would expect. Similarly, there is none of the usual alloy corrosion (reaction between the alloy and paint that causes bubbling) that afflicts most X350’s.

Bodywork is in great shape – it is black and 20 years old, so would benefit from a proper 2 stage machine polish if you’re into that sort of thing. There are odd marks and stonechips to the bonnet that have been touched in and some slight scuffs to the rear bumper chrome trims but as you see from the photos it is overall very good, no dents, scrapes or even car park dings to the doors and is remarkably straight.

It has been well maintained and I have the Japanese service book as well as servicing and repair invoices carried out since import. Last service at 66, 500 miles in October 23 with Mobil1 oil. Comes with owners wallet, original book packs, V5 in my name and two sets of keys.

MOT is until August (no advisories on last one, or recent ones) but I will put a new MOT on at point of sale as part of the sale.

Will be sad to see it go but it’s a 4th car and other than doing a few trips in it, I don’t use it much and I could do with something more practical that I can get the dogs in so would possibly be interested in a deal with a nice cayenne/ X5/ E-class estate of a similar vintage.
