1990 Volvo 340 'Catalyser' - spares or repair
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY
This car has been off the road since circa 2017/ 18. It failed the MoT at the time on welding to various places, and welding was subsequently carried out by a friend of mine. The car then sat and was not presented for test again. Since then, the car was unfortunately vandalised, and the windscreen smashed. I will include the most recent photo which I have of the car.
To the car itself, I took this on as a restoration project however I now have too many cars on the go. The car itself is a very basic specification, being lower than a DL. Volvo 340s are rare cars now and one this spartan must be very unusual.
GOOD POINTS:
- Getting rare now
- Only two previous owners prior to myself
- Very clean interior
- Original Volvo VC608 radio cassette
- Dealer fit pop up sunroof
- A set of original Volvo floor trays
- Engine, when ran, was a willing and smooth unit. Has not run in years and has not been tested since
- Despite appearances I have substantial paperwork for the car, which can be passed on to the new owner should you desire it.
BAD POINTS
- Needs welding, as stated
- Vandal damage to windscreen
- Has been stood and is therefore covered in dirt and mould, however will likely clean off with a good jet wash
- Quite a few of the panels are rusty. It is 34 years old
- Bonnet catch was removed for my 360 GLE. I do have a spare one (unfitted) which I can forward on should the new owner want it
- Probably best as a spares car, however that is a decision for the next owner.
I have probably missed a fair chunk from memory, however these are rare cars now.
WILL NEED RECOVERED AND CANNOT BE DRIVEN
Any questions please ask. The Volvo 340 is a rare car now and each example is worthy of a look.
