Since he has owned it, significant restoration work has been carried out and all the invoices and documents have been catalogued since 1990.
The 5-digit odometer currently shows 26, 700 mile. Actually 126700 (all MOTs available)
Condition:
The car has been fully restored over the years and is presented in excellent aesthetic and mechanical condition.
Exterior: The bodywork is in excellent rust-free condition, The car was repainted professionally in 1993 and more recently in 2007. A few months ago, the lower parts of the doors were also repainted. The soft top is in very good condition and is well-tensioned. The wheels are in excellent condition as are the headlights. The current owner has front headlight covers, rear light covers, and spare hubcaps.
Interior: Inside, the seats from the second-generation Spider (more comfortable). These show some signs of wear but remain in good condition. The dashboard is in very good condition as is the steering wheel. All the instruments work except for the heater.
Mechanical: In 2001, at 103, 500 miles, the engine was rebuilt and upgraded by Jamie Porter (The Workshop Royston) The car was dyno-tested after this work and showed an increase from 115 horsepower to 162 horsepower! This was achieved thanks to a new cylinder head, 12 mm high-lift camshafts, balanced pistons, a GTA exhaust manifold, individual throttle body trumpets, two Weber 40DCOE carburetors, electronic ignition, a stainless steel exhaust, and a high-torque starter motor. Since then, the car has only covered 25, 000 miles, and the engine runs perfectly today. It is also equipped with a Limited Slip Differential. The car features an Alfaholics "Fast Road" suspension kit, including front anti-roll bar, Koni shock absorbers and springs. The gearbox was also rebuilt, and the gears shift smoothly.
