First registered on 1st September 1971, this is a genuine UK-market Type 105. 58 right-hand drive Series 2 “Kamm Tail” Spider, finished in its original and timeless colour combination of Rosso with Black interior. The 1750 Spider Veloce is widely regarded as one of the most sought-after variants of the Alfa Romeo Spider range, combining elegant styling with the superbly responsive and free-revving 1779cc twin-cam engine.
Production numbers for the RHD 1750 Kamm Tail Spider were incredibly limited, with just 138 examples produced, making these cars highly collectible today. Remarkably, this particular example is believed to be among the final cars built, with just 12 further examples produced after this chassis.
This car has clearly benefited from significant recent investment, with extensive engine and mechanical work carried out between 2023–2025 to ensure reliability and usability. The result is a Spider that not only looks the part but can be confidently enjoyed on the road – exactly as intended.
The history file accompanying the vehicle is exceptionally comprehensive, containing an extensive collection of invoices, previous MOT certificates, ownership records, photographs, and restoration documentation accumulated over decades. Most notably, the car retains an incredible 43 years of MOT certificates, documenting a recorded mileage of approximately 100, 000 miles throughout its life.
Within the history is documentation relating to a substantial restoration carried out in 1992 by renowned Alfa Romeo specialists BenAlfa Performance Cars, during which the vehicle was rebuilt using numerous new and reconditioned panels and mechanical components before being repainted in Rosso 514, preserving its original factory colour scheme. Photographic records of the restoration are also included within the file.
Further specialist work was carried out in 2010, when the engine was rebuilt by respected Alfa Romeo specialist David Hood, using components supplied by Classic Alfa. At this time the car was also upgraded with a 123 electronic ignition distributor and Bosch Blue coil for improved reliability and drivability.
