1962 Sunbeam Harrington Le Mans. Very rare car, only approximately 150 built. Needs complete restoration but very well worthwhile doing. According to the Harrington association there seems to be no doubt that it once belonged to Peter Harper ( Sunbeam works driver 61/ 62 Le mans 24 hour), but not sure exactly when he owned it. Several pictures of it racing in the 70's/ 80's.
Fairly solid outer body, especially sills and inner sills, but rust in other areas underneath would require considerable welding.
Engine is seized, but it is the original numbers matching engine that matches the chassis number, and both are on the V5C. It has an oil cooler fitted and servo brakes. The rear tailgate glass is missing but a replacement is available through a company in Holland, although it has had a perspex one fitted for most of its life. There is a roll cage which goes with the car obviously from it's earlier racing days. It is pretty much complete including windscreen, door glass both sides, and also a brand new carpet set, bumpers that have been re- chromed, and side spears for the front wings and doors, along with the side trims. There may be one or two small items missing, but nothing major. I have a current V5C and the older style log book. Harringtons are hard to find in any condition and this is well worth the effort to restore in terms of both investment potential and historical significance. I have £6500 in it, but all sensible offers will be considered. Sadly only for sale due to storage issues.
