Description
BSA Super Rocket, registered November 1958 Styled in a bobber look. Handy bespoke rear carrier. Recent work carried out includes: Rebuilt rear wheel with Central Wheels WM profile chrome rim. Powder coated frame + various other parts. Bates headlight. New rear chain. New swing arm bushes. Rear brake converted to rod operation for more positive action. Engine rebuilt with new crankshaft bearings + barrels honed & fitted new piston rings. Also fitted new clutch - very light action. (unfortunately, no paperwork to substantiate, but this was confirmed by the previous owner & the engine does run very sweetly). 12 volt electrics. Heidenau rear tyre - mint. Dunlop K70 front tyre - mint. New tank badges. V5 present + original VE60 continuation log book, which indicates that the original Super Rocket engine was replaced in the early 70s with a Gold Flash engine. Frame number correct for S. R. Unused for a few years, tho engine has been started regularly. Will require some recommissioning before regular use, just for peace of mind. Bad bits (there's always something!): Broken fin on cyl head @ lh side. Small dent in petrol tank @ lh front. Front mudguard has had a few holes drilled in it, & really requires replacing with a nice polished alloy one to match the rear. All in all, a very good basis for riding as is, or returning to Super Rocket spec. Complete with spare exhaust pipes (quite good - some pitting) + a lh Goldie silencer. Ideal if you prefer the 2 - 2 look. Realistically priced - no offers. (No swaps, p/ ex thanks). Individual looks & one of the best models that BSA produced. Realistically priced & ideal for first BSA classic bike ownership. Spares availability is excellent.
