Description
Norton N15cs 'Desert sled' These bikes were made primarily for export to the American market. A 750 Norton Atlas engine in an AMC frame to survive riding in the desert. This bike has had extensive work done on the engine under the supervision of Norman White. It has had a crank regrind and balance plus re bore and new pistons. There is a shim plate under the barrels which slightly reduces the compression making it more civilized to start with no discernible loss of power. Also replaced Amal monoblocs with single Mikuni. Mono blocs are available. Wheel bearings replaced. Original wheels, new Avon roadriders. RGM twin leading front brake added. Oil pressure gauge fitted. The forks have been rebuilt with new stanchions, seals and rubbers. The magneto has been restored by NOC magneto specialist Paul Wolf. The simple electrics have all been replaced. Both clocks restored by Ashley Pople, however the tacho is not working at the moment. Recently fitted is a new centre stand made by Rob Swift which makes it simple and easy. The original stands were too short and back breaking to use. The silencers are non original and have seen better days but sound wonderful. This bike is not in concours condition but is a blast to ride and creates a lot of attention at any bike gathering. Not many of these bikes around. Payment by BACS on collection.
