Description
Hello,
It is with a heavy heart I am selling my 1994 Celica GT-Four WRC, I will be hugely sad to see it go, but an incoming little one will very shortly be my priority.
I will try and not ramble but this car deserves a good advert, the car itself is a 1994 Celica GT-Four Factory WRC Homologation model, finished in the colour you want, Super White.
Regulations required Toyota to build 2500 models for the car to run in the WRC and this is one of those cars, they were factory fitted with the high rise spoiler, bonnet spoiler, anti-lag pipes, water injection, intercooler spray nozzles and a different ECU to 'theoreticaly control' these. This car has all of those original features in place.
I have owned the car since 2017, currently sits on 109, 400 miles, with a solid MOT history and has 10 months left on its current one.
I have a huge amount of service history, an excel spreadsheet detailing work plus a folder full of reciepts which I will go into. Plus the V5 in my name of course.
Over the years it has had new suspension arms, shock absorbers, bushes, regular oil changes, plugs, filters I can't list all the small bits but big recent maintenance includes:
In 2022 (less than 5k ago) It had a huge amount of work carried out at a specialist (with pictures) this included:
New Exedy Clutch, genuine Toyota release bearing, cambelt and waterpump, aux belt, including new oil pump and crank seals, gearshift bushes amongst many other maintenance items.
In addition to this it has previously had a refurbished Chargecooler pump, new distributor, caliper seals, genuine discs and pads and rear diff mount.
Because of the maintenance the car always starts and runs very indeed, engine is super quiet, gearbox is precise with no crunching and the turbo comes in nicely - there are no silly engine modifications, its as Toyota left it.
There are no knocks or bangs from the suspension and it feels very planted but its not hard or crashy.
The interior is in very nice condition, working AC! No holes in the dash, door cards are all good, bar a period Alpine stereo and boost gauge its very original. Has its original JDM flare too :-)
The passenger recaro does require some retrimming on the bolsters but the centre important confetti bit is fine. I have the material which can be included.
The body in my opinion is in very good condition, I keep it garaged in winter and its not used in salty conditions, the car always gets complemented. There are no rusty sills, inner arches are solid, bottom of the doors, the floorplan is solid too - boot floor perfect, no welding required or needed. It always has a good layer of wax so cleaning it is simple.
There are some aged related imperfections, some touch ups here and there, the most notable one being a tiny bit of corrosion around the side of the windscreen seal its stayed the same during my ownership and is touched in, but no dents, scratches etc...
The car is very genuine but does have a few subtle upgrades that I believe are inkeeping with the personality of the car. However, I must stress these are bolt on parts and I have all the factory parts which are hard to find.
> 17" Route Style Wheels, with matching Goodyear Eagle F1s.
> Custom made stainless steel exhaust, in 2. 5" diameter with twin silencers and a subtle rear tip, it sounds lovely but is not instrusive at all - a car that looks like this needs a little burble.
>Tein Springs, they make the car sit just right in my opinion but they are on standard KYB dampers so it doesn't rider harshly.
> Recaro Confetti front seats - these are very rare and transform the way you sit and feel in the car.
>A very unusual, 'Sheepdog by Prof' blow off valve, this came on the car from Japan so have left it on :-) - its a very quiet one but adds to the theatre.
> A boost gauge mounted nicely in the pocket holder to keep an eye on things.
>Alpine stereo with bluetooth, a good quality well fitted unit.
>Nardi wheel, this came with the car from Japan so I feel like it should stay on it.
>There is a decat in place currently but sportscats are easily fitted.
As mentioned I have the following:
Factory exhaust system
Factory 3 Spoke Wheels with caps
Factory front seats
Factory springs
OE Radio
Factory steering wheel
I also have boxes full of parts that the next owner can have, bolts, stickers, clips, spare airboxes etc... In addition I have a super rare original WRC specific brochure, various GT4 models, book packs and a genuine JDM manual which I can included for the right deal. I am passionate about these.
This is not some mothballed garage car, I use the car which I think is the best thing for classic cars; everything keeps lubricated and free! I have mechanical sympathy and do not abuse the car.
Sorry if you've read this far! I have hundreds of photos and just as many stories, happy to talk to anyone sensible and of course viewings. The private plate will not be included.
ThanksIn my opinion these Celica's are woefully undervalued, this bodyshape had actual WRC pedigree and is far more technically advanced than some of its counterparts when you read into the development of these, ceramic turbos, chargecooling - it even has an alternator cooling snorkel in the bonnet...
But more than this, its just the way it looks, the high rise spoiler, vents and snorkles on the bonnet, the bumper with the spot lights - it looks like it could roll onto a WRC special stage and you just don't see them on the road.
But what I love most is how versatile it is, i've owned and driven other fast JDM bits but they can be a one trick pony, this car has working aircon, a large boot and proper rear seats, I use this to go to Tesco and everything inbetween. You don't need the perfect day or occasion to use this car and yet every drive feels like an occasion!
