1978 Toyota Celica Mk2 XT2000 Liftback Coupe
Just over 60k miles, and just had her in (28/ 08/ 24) for a transmission service too so she drives sweet as a nut. RA40-era Celica with the original bulletproof 2. 0 litre carb engine (18R-U designation, a legendary Toyota motor) and 3-speed A40 automatic, black with black trim. Tax, MOT and of course ULEZ exempt
I currently use it at least once a week on a 40 mile round trip so she's ready to drive away immediately. These take barely any maintenance compared to most of their rivals, think of it as a Capri or Porsche 924, but with Japanese reliability on top and easier to work on
Completely unmodified and original - the only caveat being I am currently looking to fit some new seats as the drivers side has a rip, as is common on these
Completely rust free underside, with the only downside being the paint is cracked here and there on the body, due to these having thin paint from the factory
Mechanically perfect and drives lovely, never had a single issue, pulls well, great brakes and handling, electrics all good, heater etc. Comes with a box of excellent spares, even full rear light lenses etc, and a ton of paperwork & receipts covering maintenance
Originally purchased due to my fiancée falling in love with it, but for me its a little too classy and original, and I enjoy something more loud and ratty for modification, which would be a shame to do to this little beauty, especially with only 3 on the road in the UK as far as I know. A fair amount were made here, but a lot were exported over the years, especially to Australia
Cash preferred, but would consider some car swaps if they catch my eyeA lovely little original condition classic, stylish and could easily be used as a daily driver if you wanted to, thanks to their rock solid reliability and huge boot space. Easily a 'forever car' for a classic Toyota fan
