1967 Morris Minor 1000 2 Door, Useable Great Driving Example, MOT/ Tax Exempt
Hi and welcome to the sale of my charming Morris Minor 1000.
Certainly one to use and improve, drives nicely and has proven to be very reliable. It has recently completed a 230 mile journey without issue and has done several hundred miles in this last month alone.
The engine seems very healthy, starting up easily and performing brilliantly with plenty of poke, the gearbox and clutch both operate as they should. The brakes feel a bit hard but they do stop the car. It has recently benefited from new ignition leads as well as a distributor cap.
Finished in cream with red interior, the bodywork and paint looks good from several feet away but up close you will see it is quite flat with numerous areas of bubbling in places - the paint may come up better with a good machine polish. Some of the previous repairs have not been done to the best of standard so would benefit from redoing if you're that way inclined. It is generally solid underneath.
Interior again falls into the useable but not perfect category as some bits are very nice like the fairly new carpets and door cards, however the seats may not be to everyone's taste - they do however match the red of the rest of the interior and are much more comfortable than the standard seats would be!
It also has some nice additions such as a lovely 'astrali' wood steering wheel, temperature gauge, and cigarette lighter so you can charge your phone. The headlights do not work so this will need looking into.
Showing just over 22k miles however I would not pay much attention to this and mileage can almost never be guaranteed with a car of this age. I wouldn't be surprised if its the mileage that the engine has covered though.
Being over 40 years old and registered as historic, the Minor is now tax & MOT exempt, insurance is cheap too making this a very affordable classic to run!
Minor's have a great following and parts supply is plentiful so would make an ideal first classic project for someone.
Comes with Haynes workshop manual & restoration manual, plenty of old MOT's and servicing receipts showing work done, plus as a bundle of spare parts.
