Description
I am selling my Imp very reluctantly because, having just turned 80, I find that maintaining it is getting too difficult. This car has an amazing history, and is far too long to tell it here, so contact me for further details and I will be happy to oblige. The car was owned by a garage for a few moths and then sold to the only previous owner who kept all the details of the car's service history and more in a large file. The car isn't perfect - it celebrates its 57th birthday today (06/ 09/ 24) - and has imperfections gained over the years, but it is a very original car. I am including a small trailer, if required and as seen in one of the photos if the car gets the asking price. The price is negotiable but sensible offers only please as i am not desperate to sell. It is currently fitted with a pair of Ford Ka leather seats and they will be included along with the originals that honestly look as though they've never been sat upon. It passed its MOT yesterday. There's a big box of spares and a period roof rack, a genuine workshop manual and many other books and pamphlets. I would be very reluctant to sell the car to anyone who hadn't come to view it. I think the asking price is very fair - as you would expect - for a nice original and solid little car that drives really well and has had all the work done to it to give reliable service for a long time. Details of all the work done can be obtained by asking!Although it had a chequered career when first sold in 1963, it very soon became a very capable small family car and an absolute hoot to drive! This one still is and gets many smiles per mile from onlookers. The Imp Club has the best spares department of any one-make car club I have ever been a member of and other owners are always helpful and very knowledgeable. Insurance is around £100pa and it is MOT and RFL free although I did have it MOT tested yesterday because of its imminent sale. The Imp is notorious for overheating; but because I have fitted an upgraded radator, new water pump and expansion bottle as well as an accurate temperature gauge the engine temp never gets beyond just above 90c even on the hottest day. It isn't a concours car but it looks good enough to take to even quite a prestigious car meet as i did last year without feeling that it lets the side down. I love the fact that it is pretty well 95% original with a great history file.
