Although the VW Golf GTi was launched in 1976, it was not until June 18th that the first right-hand drive Golf GTi was manufactured at the Wolfsburg Factory, which had the registration number ENT 847V in England.
The Golf GTi, now on sale, was one of the last Golf's to be sold in England with a left-hand drive.
