Cracking sports car in British Racing Green that drives a treat with working Overdrive. Nice alloys, drilled discs & uprated brake hoses, tubular exhaust manifold with twin pipes - very sporty.
Paint has a nice gloss, just some small bubbles at top of rear passenger wing - needs sorting but not urgent.
Underneath is very solid with no rust.
The interior and hood are original/ good condition.
The engine alone cost £2627 before fitting. Check out the Ivor Searle website for detailed specifications of their remanufacturing process - much more thorough than the average recon units about.
The car drives nicely and the motor pulls well with good torque, the carbs have new jets, are balanced and it starts on the key hot or cold. This is a nice usable Spitfire, that's very presentable, but with potential to improve and to make really special without too much work. These are good, tough little cars that are surprisingly practical day to day or for touring (particularly with a boot rack fitted).
This is a private sale and the car is registered in my wifes name. That said, we've had a lot of Triumphs over the years so know them well.
