Description
The Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 was a car produced from 1972 to 1976 in only 521 examples, of which 3 were prototypes and 109 with right-hand drive. A car desired by Enzo Ferrari who saw this model as the sporting flagship (therefore two-door) of the Prancing Horse. The 365 GT4 is the grand tourer in evening wear. A Ferrari with an elegant classicism whose magnetism strikes only the most discerning connoisseurs: indeed it has this rare and precious gift of leaving indifferent all those who recognise beauty only when it flaunts itself provocatively.
Beyond Enzo Ferrari, who towards the end of his life used a blue 365 GT4 for his personal journeys, several notable people were passionate about the model. Among them we mention Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands (who had two of them, including chassis 17129), Etienne Aigner, a businessman and sponsor of Clay Regazzoni (chassis 17405), Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Shah of Iran, and Mick Jagger, lead singer of the Rolling Stones. The car offered is chassis 17441 produced in 1973. The first owner was a well-known Veneto industrialist Zoppas, a producer of household appliances who advertised them as “indestructible”.
Full optional version for the model, with electric windows and air conditioning. The power steering was standard. The gearbox is manual. The engine has been rebuilt anew and is in running-in. Also fitted were five new tyres. On the advice of Niky Lauda’s mechanic, Ermanno Cuoghi, the entire exhaust system was replaced with an inox one sourced directly from England. The car has undergone a small conservative restoration that touched the leather interior, which was repaired and brought back to its original condition. The carpets, the moquette flooring, were renewed and all interior details and the engine bay have been cared for as well as the subframe area. Finally the bodywork was finely polished and protected with 9H nanotechnology. A car that needs to be used for longer trips so that the 12-cylinder with 340 hp at 6200 rpm can roar as it should.
History traced with testimony from the first owner. Engine rebuilt with invoices, car produced in a limited number of examples.
