Triumph Herald 12/ 50 Saloon, 1965, registration ETA 802C.
The 12/ 50 was the final, prettiest and best version of the original shaped Herald, especially in this two tone colour scheme. The power was increased to 51bhp from 39bhp of the 1200 Herald. All 12/ 50 Heralds were fitted with a sun roof, front disc brakes, higher compression engine, improved front grill and padded dash top.
This car’s sun roof is in good working condition.
The engine runs well with high compression of around 185psi on all cylinders. The oil light goes out immediately upon start up. The interior in red with white piping is original and in very good condition. The chassis and underside of the car is coated with preservative.
The bodywork is tidy and in the original red & white colour scheme, but with some hand painted and repaired areas. The odometer reading cannot be warranted. Front brake discs are new but brake pads are sticking due to standing for several months, will need a trailer or courier for collection.
There is a host of spare parts including front windscreen, radiator, fuel tank, Motorola push button radio (untested) and much more.
The car has spent most of its life in the same Dorset village and has had a total of three owners including me. It comes with a good history file, showing previous owners and earlier photographs. Also included are owners handbook, repair manual, restoration manual and other items of interest. £2500 or near offer.
Viewing recommended and welcome in Poole, Dorset.
