Description
Hand built Triumph Herald Special, known as a "Nevett Special" after the builder. Converted from a 1200cc Herald around 1990 this is not a kit car. Totally unique the body has been individually designed & you will not find another one the same. The incomplete history file has the builders sketches and lots of receipts from his time of ownership and then mine from 2012.
The tub of the car is wood, the rear wings & cowling are steel & the front wings are hand formed aluminium. The boat-tail & rear, up to the bulkhead, is covered in cream leathercloth with the sides of the front painted cream. The bonnet is covered in stainless steel. The chassis is in excellent condition.
During my ownership the tyres were replaced with Pirellis (which are fitted with extra strong tubes), an electronic ignition & a high torque starter motor were fitted. The clutch has been replaced & the carbs rebuilt & a new battery fitted. The car runs well and although a historic vehicle has an MOT until April 27 with no advisories. There is a hood frame present & a tonneau cover but no actual hood. It's garaged & never used in wet weather. There is a spare wire wheel in the boot.
Whilst more work could possibly be done to improve it, it is still a fun & unique car with loads of character.
Reluctant sale, needing the space.
