1927 Buick Master Six -great opportunity to own a superb vintage car
I have owned this lovely Buick since 2017 and I was using it regularly until about 4 years ago when I drove it into the garage and parked it up and have not used it since because of illness. The car has sat there doing nothing in my heated garage and remains in excellent condition, as most of my attention has been focused on my numerous vintage motorcycles.
The car will need fully recommissioning and I have realised that I am not going to get round to doing this, so have decided to move her on to allow someone else to drive and enjoy her.
This is the 128” Long Wheelbase model and comes with the powerful 4. 5 litre straight six engine, hence the name Master Six, which name given to the range. Capable of covering huge mileages, to promote its durability, Buick President Harry H. Basset had a Touring Sedan driven around the world via a dealer-to-dealer network, where each location was responsible for driving the car to the next destination and having the log book signed for authenticity. In 1927 they added Gothic Goddess hood ornament, which adorned Buicks for many years to come.
Not many right hand drive cars made it into the UK at the time of manufacture, due to the prohibitive taxation laws at the time, based upon power output, but many found there way to Australia, as they were ideally suited to cover the high mileage’s required in the outback.
This vehicle was based in the Sydney area and spent its first 85 years down under, with the latter years in the Victoria area. It was then imported into the UK in 2012 and was owned by a gentleman in Lancashire who looked after the vehicle well, with numerous service receipts, before I purchased the car at auction in 2017.
She is in excellent condition all round, with tidy paint and a lovely green leather interior, which is very tidy with a beautifully gentle soft patina. In addition her carpets are in excellent order and she presents very well, but will of course need trailering away and thoroughly going through.
She comes with full wet weather gear (hood and side-screens, which are like new and never been used by me as I only drove her on fine days). She comes with a folder of paperwork, including the V5 in my name, old invoices MOT’s etc, and an owners manual. Please note that the private plate has been removed from the vehicle and she comes with the age related number: BF 8946. There is great spares back-up from places such as Bobs Automobilia in California.
Viewing most welcome at RG9 5NB, near Henley-on-Thames.
This is an excellent opportunity to have a very capable car that with the right set-up, could be used as a very cost effective vehicle for classic rallies, Mille Miglia etc. As I need to free up the space, this represents a very good value vintage car project for someone at just £4, 975
