Since delivery to Dr David Aiken of the Royal Infirmary Doncaster on the 3rd January 1956 this vehicle has had 5 owners in nearly seventy years, the last owning her for 12 years covering less than 9, 000 miles. During this time she was subject to a bare metal respray changing the colour from her original Midnight Blue to her current two tone livery, photo available.
I have owned the car for nearly 9 years since June 2016 but have had no bodywork/ paintwork undertaken.
One of only 2, 238 made between 1955-1958 she features the last of the great Rolls Royce (and some say the best) straight six 4. 9 litre engines.
This car benefits from recently updated Wilton carpets and all of the interior woodwork has been frenched polished to a high standard. The interior leather and door cards having also been replaced with all new leather by Aston Martin trimmer Rick Turner costing £11, 300.
This car looks, drives and handles like a new car. Despite no power steering, the vehicle is perfectly balanced and easy to manoeuvre even at parking speeds.
Soon after my purchase the vehicle was subject to a full mechanical overhaul and service at Rolls Royce Specialist P&A Wood documented at 86, 554 miles. The car benefitted from a full brake overhaul and replacement of all brake wheel cylinders giving this car perfect braking. At the same time the car had a full service and tune, so starts and drives beautifully with a nice smooth automatic gearbox change. She also had a new battery and numerous other sundry parts.
In late 2022 the vehicle had a full service and lubrication at Rolls Royce specialist Harvey Walsh including a master cylinder overhaul documented at 87128 miles.
Since owning this car over £22, 000 has been spent on making it a beautiful but highly useable example of this classic. She has stunning looks and drives like a new modern car.
The original number plate WWA 550 is not included in the sale.
