Description

A solid Midget that had a full restoration in the 1990’s, and I have given it a refresh. It comes with over 30 years worth of receipts. This is a very straight MG Midget, easy to drive and cruises along at modern road speeds with ease.

It starts very easily, a little choke, turn the key and the engine settles into a steady tickover. The engine has only done a few hundred miles since rebuild, everything is still bedding in and everything works, even the heater works!

Turns heads, with that distinctive A series exhaust burble. When I took the engine out and stripped it, I found that is still on the original bores, so it has either had an easy life, is low mileage or a mixture of both. The engine is an original 1098CC 2" main bearing high output unit (engine code 10CC-D-H)

The electrics have been updated and changed to negative earth and fitted with an alternator.

The car has no rust, and happy to run a endoscope through the sills to show that there is no rust.

It is 60 years old this year, so she is not a youngster and has all the quirks of an old British sports car. And although I have refreshed her, the purists will pick fault (black engine bay). It is a very easy car to drive and ideal for enjoying the countryside.

It does have a roof, but I have not been in the car with it on, I am too tall to get in with it on. So, I use the tonneau cover.

It is a sweet little car, I am still using it to go to classic car meets and shows. I am happy to answer questions about it. I am not interested in any silly offers, so if you think you are Mike Brewer or have watched too many restoration programmes and think you can 'save me the hassle of selling' I can save you the time as I will not be interested. But, if you fancy coming over to see it, I will put the kettle on and happy to talk classics until the sun sets.
