Description
This 1993 classic Mini has been meticulously cared for and significantly restored, with a comprehensive nut and bolt rebuild completed in 2018. At the heart of the restoration is a brand new British Motor Heritage shell and subframes, supported by extensive documentation, including invoices for major parts and professional work. Since the rebuild, the car has covered just 12, 500 miles, backed by a full-service history carried out by a respected classic Mini specialist.
The car is finished in a striking MG Trophy Blue, and sits on JBW Superlight 12 x 5. 5 wheels in black and silver (set of five), complemented by a Maniflow centre-exit exhaust and Minispares 2-piece plastic roof moulding kit. Underneath, the Mini has been kept in excellent mechanical condition, with a recent ignition timing service by AC Dodd in 2023.
It also features a Scorpion Sterling Excel Immobiliser, Thatcham Category 2 Approved, for added peace of mind. The vehicle is currently SORN, but is available to test drive by arrangement.
Interior & Features
Inside, the car is fitted with a black interior and Italian Job seating. Instrumentation includes Smiths Telematic dials, with a custom 3-in-1 gauge for oil pressure, temperature, and fuel, plus Savage switches. The dash is trimmed in carbon fibre, paired with a Mountney M Range 300mm steering wheel.
Audio and infotainment are well covered with a Pioneer DEH-3900BT CD RDS Receiver, Motorola TK30 controller, and a capable setup including an EDGE ED7300 2-channel amp and Vibe PULSE 6x9 coaxial speakers. Please note that the Motorola controller is currently being temperamental, and will need some electrical investigation.
Known imperfections
As with any enthusiast-owned vehicle, there are a few cosmetic areas to note:
• Some minor paint chips and localized blistering (see photos).
• Some small white spots on the paint surface (see photos).
• Light surface rust visible on the underside; professional advice suggests a rewaxing would be beneficial (see photos).
• Rust spots on the headlight surrounds.
• Can be a bit tight shifting down from second to first at times.
• Rev counter is temperamental (suspected electrical issue).
• Speedometer under-reads by approximately 10% (e. g. shows 50mph at a true 55mph).
• Engine bay is mechanically sound, but could benefit from cosmetic tidying for show-level presentation.
Despite these minor issues, the car runs strong and feels tight and responsive on the road. Mechanically, it is in excellent condition and has been well maintained with no known outstanding issues. All documentation — including parts invoices, and service history — will be provided to the buyer. Some cars are just transport — this one is different.
This Mini has been part of my life for over two decades. I learned to drive in it, I’ve owned it ever since, and over the years it’s become more than just a car — it’s been a source of joy, connection, and pure driving fun. It’s been rebuilt, restored, and constantly cared for, with significant time, attention, and money invested to keep it in excellent condition while preserving its character.
Whether you're carving through country lanes or cruising through town, this Mini puts a smile on your face — and on the faces of those who see it. It’s a real head-turner, and without fail, sparks conversations every time it’s out. From petrol stations to car meets to quiet weekend drives, it brings people together and reminds you what makes driving fun.
The handling is everything you’d expect from a classic Mini — nimble, light, and alive in your hands. And with the upgrades and rebuild work, it feels tight, responsive, and confidence-inspiring, whether you’re on a backroad blast or just enjoying the view.
Selling it has been a tough decision, but as life changes, so do needs. I now need something a little more practical, and unfortunately, I no longer have the space or facilities to keep this Mini alongside another car. It deserves someone who’ll enjoy it as much as I have — someone who’ll drive it, talk about it, tinker with it, and keep its story going.
If you’re looking for a classic Mini that’s been truly loved — not just owned — this one’s worth your attention. It’s ready to be driven, enjoyed, and cherished.
