W123 230 in excellent condition throughout.
What makes this 123 (I am told) probably unique in the UK, is that it was one of the very last off the line, and has perhaps every optional extra - 7 seats, aircon, heated front seats, lit vanity mirror, town and country horn, factory tow bar, headlight wipers, plus the standard sun-roof.
Apparently restored by Cosovitch / Stuttgart and featured in "Mercedes-Benz W123: The Finest Saloon Car of the 20th Century?" (and as per large file of receipts). New odometer (accompanying new engine in 2006) was inserted after 88k miles (which should be added to current 23k for full mileage).
It was excellent when I purchased 5 years ago from the 123 class captain, and was the best conditioned estate I could find on the market. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to afford to sort out all the niggles since then (10k spent in the last year alone), ranging from perfecting the headlining, to replacing the rear bumper (which was corroded underneath, not visibly so, but it irritated me). All work and servicing is done by the meticulous classic Mercedes specialist D. Meads. I have added a modern stereo (with USB and upgraded speakers throughout, including a bass bin under passenger seat), but have the original Blaupunkt.
It is of course a totally reliable (and very comfortable) motorway cruiser, as well as a cavernous transporter of kids. Now that mine no longer need transporting, and I have to make room for my new mid-life lotus, I'm looking to recoup some of my loss rather than anything approaching a profit, and would rather sell for what I understand to be a very fair price, to an enthusiast who will garage and properly maintain.
Will be ULEZ exempt this year, and will be sold with 12 months MOT and no advisories.
