Mecatecno MR 326 1984 Air cooled mono
This is a very rare trials bike that was never imported into the UK. This particlar bike was sought in Spain several years ago by a private collector for his collection. It is in superb condition and has been dry stored with petrol drained.
Only 30 of these motorcycles were produced and they were ridden in the trials World championship . The engine is a design of Mecatecno and is rotary valve induction. It has magnesium cases and is renowned as being a very robust strong engine that is very smooth with no shortage of power. The clutch is light.
There are many features on this motorcycle which make it special including a novel way of adjusting the rear suspension under the seat. I'm selling this because I'm far too busy with my businesses to appreciate it . It is in very good condition with no damage. It just needs the dust wiping off it and firing up. It's a really good edition to anyone's collection and is a very special bike built in BarcelonaMecatecno were a small but very passionate motorcycle manufacturer. They created entirely unique designs at a time of great Revolution within the trials industry after the loss of ossa and bultaco when generally speaking all of the engineers were looking for fresh places to work. This bike embodies that period in trials history and the history surrounding the company is interesting
