Description
1967 RHD Ragtop Cal Looker (admittedly with bumpers for the Cal Look purists out there…:)
Subject to a a full professional body off restoration, repaint and full rebuild with super low miles since.
Fully retrimmed by Bernard Newbury including the Golde Ragtop (mohair) and Leather interior and Wilton carpet.
2276 Funkenblitz built engine (fully receipted) with Weber 44 IDF, Magnesium case, CB82mm crank, FK8 cam, straight cut timing gear. CB044 heads, CB ratio rockers, CB H beam con rods.
Built gearbox (unknown spec but believe Cogbox).
Lots of nice parts used to finish it off properly - previous owner didn’t cut any corners.
BBT sprintstars, front disks (EMPI) Gearbox braced, adjustable spring plates, anti roll bars, Gaz front shocks and coil over rears.
Rear pop outs, EMPI door and glovebox pulls, genuine locking ignition switch. Vented Cabrio style rear decklid.
Running big bore heat exchangers with a VW speed shop stainless 1 5/ 8”header and 2. 5” stainless muffler.
Full Petronix ignition setup. Naturally running an external cooler and filter.
Drives and goes better than any beetle I’ve ever had.
Believed super low use since build and condition and MOT supports this - re-trim was completed in 2003 which is around when I believe the car was finished (although told engine added later).
MOT record needs to be seen to support how little use this has had:

Very solid and straight car - happy to provide any addition pictures to anyone with serious interest and inspection is encouraged. There are a few stone chips from its limited use - again happy to share any detailed pics.
Only advertising as reaching the end of a long restoration on a ‘keeper’ and too many cars so will simply not get used as it should.
