For sale is my 1986 R107 300SL.
I am the fourth owner on the car, and it comes with an impressive history file including every single MOT since the first one. Latest one done last month.
The car is presented in non metallic black and the paintwork is in great order. The hardtop whilst not pictured is still present and in storage in the garage.
The car is always garaged or in the car port.
There are 16" Gullideck wheels which whilst an inch bigger, still provide the car with a factory look. These also have Continentals that were only fitted around 1, 000 miles ago. The exhaust system is all stainless steel, including the downpipes. The tip of the exhaust was made to replicate the original look of the car.
The interior is beautiful kept with upgrades such as the matching wind deflector and retro looking Blaupunkt radio. Which also has upgraded Rockford Fosgate speakers in the original location to keep the correct aesthetic. There is also a Kenwood under seat sub to provide that extra punch that is lacking with a factory two speaker set up. This is completely invisible to the eye.
The original mats are still in great shape. All the wood in the car is also in good condition. The steering wheel leather has been restored using the Furniture Clinic Kit, and looks nicely matt now as it should be.
I have replaced the sun visors as these often become brittle. The seatbelts also have the stainless steel guides near the headrests to prevent them from constantly falling behind the seat.
The car has been inspected by Wayne Gates, the specialists in Harrow, and has ben serviced there along with having various other bits done, totalling just under £2, 000.
Whilst it's not a concours condition car, it's a great honest and usable example of one. With only 4 owners in it's almost 40 year life, each owner has definitely taken car of it. The underside as you can see from the pic is also in excellent condition.
The car also comes with an SL shop car cover that's never been used. There is also a hardtop included.
