Description
COOL & VINTAGE.
A UNICORN.
Please don't confuse with average, tired old cars. This beauty ticks all the right boxes and would be £25K from a specilaist dealer.
Over the years I've owned more than 20 Land Rovers.
All the Series, Range Rovers, Discoverys, TD5's, 300Tdi's
I love em.
I live by the sea and wanted to find a car for the beach and pure fun.
I much prefer patina to perfection but also understand just how expensive and unreliable Land Rovers can be to run.
Especially old ones.
Rust is not their friend.
I decided to focus on a Series 3.
My search commenced.
I spent around 6 months looking at over-described, under-loved examples.
Making myriad calls.
Running around the country wasting time on viewing disappointing cars.
Life is short and wasting time is a waste of time.
Then I found this beauty.
It ticked the all the boxes.
Not over-restored to the point I'd be worried about using it.
Not knackered.
Not a dealer tarting a car up to make a quick buck.
It's the genuine article.
Totally stock and standard.
No ghastly chequer plate covering all manner of horror stories.
Attention to detail is paramount.
For example the galvanised parts are all worn and wonderful.
Not painted silver... urgh!
The all important galvanised chassis.
A must these days.
Marine Blue is THE COLOUR for Series 3's IMHO.
It looks so cool.
My car has new seats which are very comfy.
It's been painted at some point but properly and sympathetically.
Various parts have been left unpainted.
The load area for example is nicely worn.
All the rivets are visible.
Not blown over.
The dash is gorgeous, not cracked.
Rear seats are new.
The tow bar adds to the charm.
Running well and starting easily this beauty is exactly what I'd been looking for.
Over drive is a must and this one has overdrive.
I like to drive with the door tops off and the screen folded forward.
And that's what I do.
That said there's a set of hoops and a lovely sand coloured soft top.
And a full hardtop without side windows.
I simply don't use them but they are there.
This is an unexpected sale.
Serious enquiries only please.
No time wasters without funds or needing to sell something.
Just appreciative buyers that understand just how hard it is to find a car of this quality.
Tyres are pretty much new.
There's the odd mark.
The sides are nice and straight as the photos show.
Just the right amount of patina.
If you like the Cool & Vintage look you could could put some black wolf wheels on it.
