Philip Vincent's 'Black Shadows' are legendary motorbikes produced by manufacturer/ rider Philip Vincent from 1948 onwards. His aim was to build the fastest motorbikes in the world. The Black Shadow is considered to be the first Superbike. The A and B Series were the first, but the high point was the C Series, the most accomplished launched in 1948. The 998cc V-twin was the most powerful on the market at the time, enabling the machine to reach speeds of 125mph (over 200kph). This model had been in a collection since 1991. Its history is crystal clear, as we know the full story shared by 5 consecutive owners.
