Meet Myllie!

Myllie (MYL244D) is a stunning and rare 1966 Morris Minor 1000 Convertible painted in beautiful ruby red, fully restored between 2003-2004 by the Car Workshop in Yorkshire.

She makes people stop and stare admiringly. She makes old men’s hearts sing. And she’s the most beautiful car I’ve ever owned.

I bought this car for use in a TV programme we were making at my television production company (- details above) two years ago, and loved her so much I decided to keep her. She had previously featured in a TV programme called The Royal as well.

As well as having a full restoration (see pictures for details), she was formerly owned and maintained by a retired mechanic, so she is in mechanically perfect condition.

During my ownership she has been dry stored in an underground car park at great expense, and done only two trips in the sunshine.

The previous owner stored her in a garage on his property for years and no expense has been spared in terms of her mechanical upkeep.

She is painted in ruby red with white wheel rims, which I think is the most attractive colour combination for a Morris.

Her roof is in excellent condition and was recently purchased by the previous owner.

There is a box of spare parts, including a spare steering wheel, jack, spark plugs, spare tyre, restoration manual, workshop manual etc.

It is very rare indeed to find a convertible Morris in this condition, and she is starts first time every time, and is amazing on long journeys and on the motorway.

Sadly I’ve done one trip to the Isle of Wight in two years and I’m just not using her enough. Added to that I’m losing my underground car parking space, so sadly and heartbreakingly she has to go.

Due to the new classic car government regulations, she no longer needed an MOT, but her last one was in 2016 which she passed with no advisories, and since then she has done just 913 miles, or 100 miles a year! As a historic vehicle, she is also exempt from vehicle tax.

I love sitting in the driver seat with the roof down, winding down country lanes and watching people wave (some even clap). She is an absolute joy to drive.

The car's bodywork is in good condition, with any rust having been treated before she was sprayed. However there are some scuffs here and there (see details below and shown in the photos)

I believe in karma and honesty - so in that spirit the only tiny things I can think of which are negatives are scuffs mentioned above, the boot has a small area where the size of a 50p coin where the paint is flaking, the driver seat has a rubber strap underneath which needs fixing. It’s not a show car, but it’s a very beautiful, mechanically perfect classic which will last a lifetime.

Here is her full MOT dates and mileage history:

Lots of receipts and old certificates in a folder to come with the car, plus a full photo catalogue of everything done in the restoration, and a full breakdown of what was done over a year.

Please know that the car is as described and you're welcome to come and check it over yourself.

I have often come back from a stop-off at service stations to find a crowd standing round the car gazing admiringly, and stopping at traffic lights has become a conversation starter with neighbouring drivers popping their heads out of windows to have a chat.

You are welcome to come and see the car in Hammersmith, London. My number is the details below.

I can only upload a certain number of photos here, but you can see many more here! - details above

Please also see my 100% positive feedback record on ebay, spreading back over a decade. I am always entirely honest in my listings, and treat people like I would expect to be treated.

I just hope she goes to a good home, rather than a dealer. The only reason I’m selling is because I don't have a full time parking space in the garage to keep her in.

Hopefully the new owner can send me pictures now and then of her continuing adventures.
