THE CAR: 1975 Chevron B32 Chassis No B32-75-01
This unique and very original car was commissioned by John Cussins to compete in the British Hillclimb Championship. It was based on the very successful Chevron B24 platform built between 1972 and 1973 and the later updated B28 1974 tub with a few minor changes to make it more nimble on hillclimbs, it originally ran a 5. 7 Chev engine, currently converted to 5. 0 litre.

The car was driven by Brian Redman at a special event on part of the Isle of Man TT course in 1979 appearing in the livery of LEP, in a timed match race against Phil Read, former World Motorcycle Champion, on a 750 Yamaha.
This stunning car, now resplendent in its eye catching, original 1975 livery draws huge attention at all the race meetings we have attended and is regularly photographed appearing in National and International publications.

Current rebuild before the car is sold.
The rebuild consisted of a complete strip down back to the bare tub with all mechanical parts removed, completely cleaned and checked prior to being re-fitted. A full set of photos of this process will be supplied to the new custodian with the car.
Engine check and sliding plate fuel injection system fully rebuilt with corrected clearances followed by a dyno run at Engine Dynamics see attached sheets and note the torque between 5250rpm and 5600 rpm and max bhp at 6500rpm.
Hewland DG300 gearbox checked, dogs replaced, gears faced as necessary.
Current installed ratios: 1st 18/ 38 = 2. 11
2nd 15/ 29 = 1. 93
3rd 18/ 26 = 1. 44
4th 19/ 22 = 1. 15
5th 23/ 24 = 1. 04
There is a box with alternative ratios for different tracks
All spherical bearings and rose joints checked, any worn units replaced as necessary, hubs and arms crack tested to aircraft standard and satisfactory, front cradle location improved.
Drive shafts rebuilt by Duncan Fox. Fire extinguisher serviced. Clutch is 2 plate Tilton, checked and reinstalled. Bag tank was originally installed in the nearside sponson and was small, approximately 10 litres, for hillclimb use but extended in the change to F5000 spec by increasing it to a capacity of approximately 60 litres. Fuel amount checking is by inserting a dip stick into the tank.
The car does not have a magneto nor an alternator and runs on the battery. ALWAYS ENSURE THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED BEFORE A RACE and turn off the electric fuel pump immediately after start up.
The engine is currently set up to run on Avgas but a high octane quality fuel with an octane booster will achieve very similar results.
