Cam belt and injector pump belt changed two thousand miles ago at 64, 000 miles
I took the rocker cover off ( see pictures ) to see what it was like inside expecting to some custard if you know what I mean, but nothing.
It's as clean as a whistle in there.
No blow back from the filler cap when running so
I'd say it's spot on, no smoke on startup indicates the injectors and the pump must be calibrated correctly.
I have just re-fitted the 2 black metal roof trims on the van with new fixing clips which were believe it or not over £100 for 24 clips so on both sides and they are now complete with the covers for the roof rack should you want to fit one
Also new windscreen just fitted as the previous one had a small crack in it.........
All in all a good Little Escort Van in good all round condition for it's 31 years of age and just fitted a new battery and a modern Fuse box as the old box was outdated.
It's not a rocket ship, will sit at 70 on the motorway, doesn't use any oil or water and I'm sure this engine will keep going for many more years.
