First registered on the 23rd of January 1960, this charming Series 2 Land Rover is now looking for its new owner.
Having been in my client's care since 2019 this Series 2 has been looked after to a very high standard and has been lovingly cared for by a local Land Rover specialist. In anticipation for sale it was treated to a check-over, the handbrake was adjusted and engine serviced in March this year.
With a vehicle of this age, the emphasise tends to fall on 'what has been replaced' rather than 'what requires doing', and this example is no different with many parts and consumables having been replaced during my client's tenure - a full list is available totalling 6 pages of work.

While the exterior certainly shows its fair share of patina, with missing and patchy paint, dents and scratches, each tells a story dating back over 65 years. The underside and running gear have been subject to work and presents very well for its age. All low/ high/ 2 wheel drive/ 4 wheel drive working well and used regularly. Freewheeling front hubs.
The engine has been replaced with a later 2. 5 litre 12J non-turbo diesel unit from a 1980's defender, giving better fuel economy and allowing the Series 2 to keep up with modern traffic.
My client is the 14th custodian of this Series 2, which given has now surpassed 65 years old means each owner has held onto it for around 4-5 years each. It presents with only 55, 000 miles.

Note: The vehicle was subject to an insurance loss in 2016 - we have photographs of the vehicle which show damage to the front bumper and lower wing section which is very light damage, however at the time would have been enough to write off the vehicle.
