Mercedes 280 SL 1983 R107
Not the best one you’ll find, as I drive them as usable classic cars. The mileage is quite high 194, 000, but the engine runs very well and it has massive oil pressure (3bar+ (approx 50 lb- thats right off the scale) one of the best Ive seen, it has a few scrapes and paint blisters here and there, I have tried to show these in my pictures.
I left it in my barn in France for 15 years or so, so have been recommissioning it slowly, even as you read this, I am probably tinkering with it,

Eased the Brakes
Fitted a new petrol Pump
Checked ATF pump (squeaks now and then (lack of use- probably sort this by the time you read the add)
Checked main Oil
Could do with a new battery (using a spare)
Tyres = Just fitted new Dunlop SP 200s,
Mexican hat wheels (The best) are very good)
Body work not great- (not asking pristine money)
Original Panasonic stereo works fine,
Top comes off ok, and slight water ingress to screen as seen in photos, once off, for posing cruising, arm out of window,
Interior not great showing signs of wear (photos)
Gears change very well, as per workshop manual tables
Engine pulls like a train once warmed up, after all she is an old girl, and they all tend to be a bit like that.
Brakes work well as they should,
Dual Fuel, Gas and Petrol- Yes its dual fuel system, paid a lot to have the conversion done, works on petrol and LPG gas which is great boost and much cheaper to run than petrol alone, I usually start the car on petrol, then switch over to gas, (gas approx 80pltr) I have all the receipts certificates etc from the suppliers, and seems to runs better on gas, I chose the 280sl, for the economy and my preference as it was better on fuel,

This is not a pristine car and would say like most classics, they are ongoing projects, neither am I asking the crazy money you see for some of these R107’s (£30K+) These are now amongst the fastest rising classics around.
