Description
GMF 186B, 1964 S2a diesel 2. 25
Purchased by myself in 2018 from Overland & Highway, after which it was fully serviced and thoroughly checked over by landrover specialists AJS. Since then it has been serviced and maintained by myself and my son.
It was previously owned and restored in 2014/ 15 by Jim Gardner, owner of Leaf sprung Landys. He used it as his personal vehicle, including attending shows. An article featuring Jim’s restoration of the vehicle is featured within issue number 36 of Classic Landrover magazine (I can provide a copy if requested).
A new Richards galvanised chassis was fitted as part of the restoration, and remains in excellent rust free condition. Both the exterior and interior bodywork are in excellent condition, and were professionally resprayed as part of the restoration.
Everything works as expected, including the Fairey overdrive.
In 2021, I fitted new front leaf springs (from Jones).
The canvas exmoor trim hood is in excellent condition.
Brand new NOS fuel gague just fitted.

Lack of time due to a family member’s illness means that I have not had time to use the vehicle in the past couple of years, and consequently my reason for selling.
I see very few quality S2a restorations for sale. This is one of the few. It has not been bodged with a shiny coat of paint and does not have random s3 bits fitted. £21, 500 - please contact me if you are genuinely interested.
