Description
This rare MGF (Wedgewood SE VVC) has done 300 miles since a 'nut & bolt' restoration. All wearing parts were checked/ replaced. It has new tyres, a hood in great condition and the paintwork has been refreshed so that it looks lovely.
As part of the restoration the front and rear subframes were removed before some minor rust (offside front sill) was weld repaired. The interior of the car was stripped-out, the floor wire brushed and repainted. The body shell itself has been given a paint refresh (not a full respray) to make it look as it should.
The subframes and suspension parts were blasted and powdercoated, worn parts (eg front wishbones) were replaced and a complete polybush kit fitted. Engine/ gearbox was cleaned and fully serviced (new belts, water pump and plugs). Clutch hydraulics are all brand new as is the brake master cylinder, brake pipes, rear calipers and pads – front calipers were rebuilt with new seals. Hydragas spheres were sent away for a service which included regassing. The car has had the old heater box replaced with an MGTF snorkel, is fitted with a low coolant alarm and had a new set of tyres fitted last year. The hood has been cleaned and waterproofed – it looks really nice and has a glass rear screen. The car sounds, drives and looks as it should.
I am selling because it is the rebuilding process that I enjoy. This car went back on the road last summer (passed its MOT first time) and I enjoyed ironing-out the snags. Now it needs someone who will care for it and enjoy driving it. Looking for £3895 which is somewhat less than I have spent on it!
Passed its second (under my ownership) MOT on 03/ 06/ 25 (92, 158 miles recorded) with no advisories. A lovely looking and reliable MGF. I have spent the time and money on this so that you don't need to!
