Description
This lovely turn key Tuscan Blue Suffix ' B ' Range Rover Convertible is ready to be owned and enjoyed this summer,
In 2014, the RRC was removed from long-term storage in the U. K., at which point a preliminary restoration / recommissioning was completed during 2014-2015 under prior ownerships.
The car was then acquired in 2019 by a new owner, this time it had a full and thorough restoration finishing work performed in the U. K. This included steps to enhance the vehicle’s useability/ practical enjoyment, including the addition of the rear bench seat, fabrication of front/ rear roof covers, and – closest to his heart – the absolutely beautiful wood custom wine bar! The last owner is involved in the Northern California wine community and the Range Rover was often used for impromptu tastings in his vineyards.
Additionally, the last owner had the vehicle repainted in Tuscan Blue, a factory Range Rover colour that really suits the Range Rovers classic shape and timeline.
Factory OEM wing mirrors (it was noted these were very difficult to source) were also added.
This restoration work performed under their ownership was carried out by Warren Kennedy of Classic Restorations Ltd., a well-known U. K. based restorer (100s of restorations over past 40+ years).
Subsequently, the last owner imported the vehicle to the U. S. and serviced the vehicle at British European Motors in Northern California. This included an overhaul of the suspension, performed in 2021. Over $6k in records from British European are included in the listing gallery for reference.
Additionally, in preparation for my purchase and transfer back to the UK , the following service work was performed:
– Repaired/ repainted fuel tank
– Coolant flush
– Brake fluid flush
– Oil change.
Since being back i have replaced various exhaust parts with new
The vehicle is safely back in the UK after its time in the beautiful mountains of California with all duties paid, a V5 and set for historic status so no TAX or MOT, heritage trust certificate and of course bottles of wine ready for Ascot. As a Suffix ' B ' Range Rover it is one of the rarer and more sought after suffix's to have, being one of the Range Rover Classics shortest production runs, from January 1973 to October 1973.
This particular special 1973 Range Rover Convertible, believed to have been converted by Special Vehicle Conversions (SVC) Ltd. in the ‘80s. SVC was a U. K. based coachbuilder, which capitalized on demand for the incredibly cool drop top RRC, made famous by none other than Roger Moore in the 1983 Bond film “Octopussy.”
