DUE TO MANY TIME WASTERS WHO WANT TO PLAY EMAIL PING PONG RATHER THAN CONVERSE THIS BIKE IS NO LONGER FOR SALE. I WOULD RATHER KEEP IT.
This (was) is for the sale of a 1996 Yamaha TRX 850 in Yamaha Red. I bought it with 2000 miles in 2005 and it has been used sparingly since, never in the rain. It now has 5900 miles. It has been well maintained and garaged. It is for sale again as the sale fell through today (not due to the bike being deficient I have to say). Indeed, as you will see from the photos the bike is as new; it is doubtless the best TRX in the U. K. A lot of sellers often say that but I am a concours expert and a condition nut so I don’t say it lightly. It is standard with the exception of several period modifications, including Racetech re-valved front forks, an Ohlins remote reservoir rear shock, a hugger and R6 calipers. All were common place in period. The bike also has period Micron race cans, which are also as new. They are loud though. These will be included in the sale as will a tailored indoor cover, keys, all books, and a full history folder. Oh yes, and the Haynes manual. The photos are those that are currently available (I am in Spain for a few weeks) but further pics and a video can be sent to interested buyers. This bike is unique in that it is now 30 years old but essentially as new. The engine has never been messed with and the chain has only been adjusted once, when the tyres were changed (for the second time in2023). All services have been undertaken and the bike does not need re-commissioning. It is tiny in comparison to modern bikes and offers a simple riding experience that inspires without any aids to help you. And it’s analogue enough to be fun but new enough not to be an antique with all the hassle that entails. But with 90bhp it does not need these modern “aids” and being a twin it pulls well enough for most. I will be sad to see it go but needs must. I have to downsize.
