Range Rover P38 4. 6 purchased 2 years ago as a project and what a great project it has been. The car looks fantastic for its age everything works including fully functioning air suspension. Listed below is all the work that has been done over the last two years:
Replacement engine (used to be 4. 0, engine Number and size has been updated with DVLA and the V5) this has now been upgraded to the 4. 6 (still standard in a P38). The engine has had a massive overhaul this year (2025) involving
8 x upgraded Bosch injectors, New cam, Timing gears and chain, Oil pump, Tappets, MAF sensor, 02 sensors, Coil pack/ leads and plugs, Crank sensor, Flex plate, Engine mounts, Alternator, Radiator, Water pump, Thermostat, Idler pulleys, Uprated oil cooler and pipes, AC condenser, genuine fuel pump, ABS boost modulator, Battery, BM catalytic converters. As you can imagine just this work alone has cost over 2. 5k in parts but the list doesn't stop there.
4 brand new genuine Dunlop air bags all round plus a genuine new Air pump, along with a rebuilt Valve block and a height calibration. The air suspension works a treat and will hold its height for over a month without dropping if not used.
Ball joints were also done last year along with new ABS sensors and wheel bearings. New track rod arm and drag link along with 4 new tyres and tracking. All the bushes have upgraded to polly bushes with 4 new shocks and it really does drive as good as P38 can.
No HVAC faults as you can see in the pictures, and both heated seats work.

The car has been used for commuting and a long trip to France last month for which its performed faultlessly, returning a decent 20/ 21 MPG.
Reading all of this you may wonder why the cars for sale, and the truth is that I would like to save another P38 or classic and unfortunately this car holds a lot of my funds. I’m in no rush to sell and I’m only open to very near offers.
Grab yourself a great P38 that is also still on the lower tax band (approx. £380) for the year. No lpg fitted.

I have two P38s so each month I rotate which one I use so if you notice its SORN that will be why :)
