Car was registered in in UK 1999 and has had 6 owners
I have owned the car since August 2023. Bought at Bonhams Auctions ( if you google red Subaru Impreza WRX STI V1 you can still see the original listing with the price I paid ! )
Extensive work carried out since I bought it including full engine rebuild by Ashley Wilks , new TC05 turbo, stage 2 CC clutch and CC lightened flywheel
Finished in rare Vivienne red ( code 936) , some of which is original and areas that have been painted are the bumpers , spoiler, bonnet and roof. This was not carried out in my ownership but presents extremely well as you can see in the photos.
Wheels are standard and immaculate and have Toyo Proxes TR1 tyres fitted ( approx 5000 miles use )
The interior is in fantastic condition . When I bought it the only area of concern was the drivers side bolster . I sent off the seat to replace / repair the foam and they reattached the original seat cover . It’s not perfect but it’s better than every other one I’ve seen !!
The Nardi steering wheel is in excellent condition as is the gear knob.
All the door cards are in excellent order
All the electrics function correctly although the air con will need gassing ( not worried me )
I replaced the instrument binnacle as it was scratched and had a small crack in it . I managed to get one with roughly the same converted mileage ( km back to miles )so everything tallies up . Speedo cables were replaced at the same time .
Any clips that were missing or broken have been replaced with genuine parts

Selling due to having too many cars and not enough space . Have 2 other Subaru’s which I’m turning my attention to . Serious enquires only please…. I bought this Subaru at auction (Bonham’s) in August 2023 after always wanting an original WRX STI in red. Very hard to find in this colour so when I saw this come up, I had to have it! So having paid over the odds for the car, we went to Wales to collect. The buyers/ auction description was a little misleading but the car had so much potential as the body work was in great condition with no rust whatsoever. All the interior was intact and in excellent order. The engine, however, was running a little rough and I could tell was burning a bit of oil. On our journey up north, the car misfired all the way! Despite this, I decided that the car was worth investing in due to the rarity of the vehicle. I dare not add up the amount spent so far but would be well into 5 figures. Would prefer to sell to someone Subaru minded to carry on looking after the car as it deserves …
Please note car is now back in dehumidified storage and will need a few days notice should a viewing be required.
