The Appeal
It’s possible that you’re drawn to the third generation WRX STI because it’s the first Impreza with a practical hatchback. Then again, it could be the major improvements in performance and handling delivered by the car’s 2.5L EJ25 300bhp engine and clever Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD). We suspect it might be the latter.
The current keeper of this 2009 car acquired it in 2023 and tells us that it has recently been checked over and serviced by a Subaru mechanic. The dark grey metallic paintwork and black Vertion alloys add a menacing element to what is a nicely detailed and clearly potent example. Inside the charcoal leather and suede interior is well kept and largely standard, save for the addition of a touch screen infotainment system.
Planted, potent and surprisingly practical, this is a smart example of the well-regarded later Impreza.
