I bought this car from a dealer in the West Midlands in 2015 as a retirement present to myself. The
car has been lightly but regularly used, I am the second owner and the reason for selling it is due to my changed family circumstances. The mileage is genuine and the car has a full service history and will be serviced, the a/ c checked and MOT'd for the new
owner. In addition to all the extras that came with these cars it also has the factory fitted X50 turbos providing 450 bhp and an extra 10% of torque more than the standard car. The turbos and oil pipes were replaced with brand new Porsche turbos at the time
of purchase as was the radiator and the brakes and have only done a few thousand miles since. The Lapis Bleu paintwork is original and in superb condition as is the interior finished in safari leather upholstery which compliments the exterior colour beautifully.
It also has the factory fitted American Burr Maple full wood trim which gives a special classic look and feel to the car. The sound system has Bose speakers and a factory fitted six disc cd changer, all in good working order. The wheels are the original
hollow turbo wheels fitted with good Michelin tyres, the rears having been recently fitted. The hood works perfectly and is in very good condition. There is a factory supplied matching colour hard top, a hard top stand, two sets of keys, an indoor car cover
and a Porsche hood-down wind deflector with the car. The personalised number plate is not included in the sale. The car is ULEZ compliant There are no defects or faults with this car and it has been meticulously maintained during my ownership. The photographs
don't do justice to the car and it really needs to be seen in the flesh to appreciate it. Any inspection of the car is welcome. The car comes with a fully stamped up service booklet, Owners manual, receipts and a hard backed sales book. The engine fitted to
this 996 turbo is the legendary Mezger engine descended from the air cooled competition engines and is completely different from the engines fitted to the non- turbo cars. These Engines do not suffer with the bearing failures and bore scoring problems that
beset the later Boxter derived engines due to their superior race developed oil lubrication system. This 2005 car with its X50 turbo upgrade, uncommon if not rare in convertibles, and the full wood veneer trim is truly a modern classic and with caring ownership
should prove to be a good investment for many years.
Vehicle registered: 18/ 01/ 2005Over the years I had this car it has proved to be very reliable, the turbos were replaced with new oil pipes and a new radiator was fitted under warranty. The brake discs and pads were also replaced. Since then the car has driven beautifully. The car is very tractable at low speeds with phenomenal acceleration when required. The X50 factory supplied turbos give nearly 40 bhp and 10% more torque than the standard 996. The car is clean and dry under the engine and transmission with no fluid leaks evident . At the time I bought the car the mileage was about 39k and this was verified by The Porsche Shop who did the independent inspection by checking the running hours on the cars computer. It was also confirmed that the engine had never been taken past its maximum revs. All the original equipment is present, spare wheel, tools and jack etc. The car comes with full documentation comprising drivers manuals, service records, invoices and other associated booklets relevant to this vehicle. It also comes with a matching colour hard top and storage stand, an indoor cover and a Porsche wind deflector.
It’s a beautiful car and really needs to be seen in the flesh to be appreciated. To my mind this 996 turbo generation of Porsche is a link between the old 911’s and the newer models and is very rewarding to drive. With careful ownership the car should prove to be a good long term investment.
