Description
1964 Mk 1 MGB GHN3 “Pull Handle” Roadster with a 3 bearing 1860cc upgraded fast road engine and overdrive.
Professionally restored to its exacting 1964 UK Factory Spec by Engineers to concourse standard around 2003/ 4, using a new “Heritage Shell”.
As the car was being assembled, the smooth Revving 3 bearing, originally 1798cc Engine (known for its Racing Pedigree in the Early MGA) was re-shelled to the Correct Upgrade Of 1860cc. A lead-free cylinder head was added, Kent MGM2 Camshaft, Vernier Gear, Electronic Ignition, and fully working overdrive, giving it virtually MGC performance but a lot lighter to Drive.
Virtually every part, nut & bolt was renewed or refurbished to exacting 64 parts Spec:
All new Crackle Finish dashboard - new wiring loom - re-upholstered Original Leather Seats - all new interior - new Chrome Wheels - mohair tonneau hood - lightweight alloy bonnet.
Rebuild history photos available on request. No longer in concourse condition but still a very good clean early MGB and attracts a lot of attention at car shows. A little TLC on the cosmetics would soon get it back to competition status.
The car was sent to MG Motorsport in September 2024 for a full Engine rebuild @ 24, 589 miles together with new clutch and alternator at a cost of £4, 800 - Less than 200 miles driven since. It is difficult to find a car of this age that has been restored with the original spec in mind.
It is getting difficult to find early MGB Roadsters in such solid condition
