OVERVIEW

A true homologation special, the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale was introduced in 2003 with the specific intention of assisting with intended improvements to Ferrari’s then fast-growing GT racing program.
Featuring a bevy of improvements, the Challenge Stradale boasted a 25bhp power hike (over standard) to 419 bhp, Carbon Ceramic brakes, various bespoke body modifications to increase downforce and numerous weight saving aspects such as carbon fibre door cards and a minimalist interior. Amazingly, in road trim, the Challenge Stradale was only 20kgs heavier than the Challenge racecar and a staggering 110kgs lighter than standard 360 Modena. Around Ferrari’s famed Fiorano test track it proved itself handsomely and was clocked on a flying lap at 3. 5 seconds faster than the base model.
Most importantly, and unlike the similarly-themed V8 engined, track inspired models that followed, just 1, 288 examples are quoted as being produced in total making it, by far, the rarest of this illustrious post-millennium lineage. Enhancing this point further, just 119 were allocated to the UK market.

HISTORY

Specified in the tasteful combination of Nero Daytona with the interior complimented in the striking mix of Tessuto Nero/ Rosso and Giallo rev counter, this Challenge Stradale was supplied new to the UK market by JCT600, Leeds on 22nd May 2004 to a resident of nearby city Hull. Attractively optioned without the central stripe, it was delivered with red brake calipers, 6 CD Changer, Satellite Navigation, handheld fire extinguisher, road legal roll bar and the Carbon Fibre seats trimmed in Alcantara.
File contents enable us to deduce a well documented chronology. It remained in first ownership until 2008 within which time it had been annually serviced by the supplying dealer and had covered just over 8, 000 miles.
Assumedly supplied via official Ferrari Carrs of Exeter, the next owner was a Surrey resident who opted for 2 simultaneous extensions of the Ferrari extended warranty within his 2 year tenure whilst servicing continued at Carrs.
By record of the additional extended warranty issued by Carrs in May 2010, ownership then passed to the third owner, a Berkshire resident, by which time the mileage had just breached 11, 000 miles.
In August 2011 it was then imported into Australia, a detailed resume of works to verify the car complied to Australian registration requirements is on file at 12, 845 miles (note km overlay put on the speedometer) although the shop who performed these works is not recorded. It was signed off on 30th September 2011.
The current UK owner acquired the car following a PPi and service at highly-regarded Melbourne specialists Maranello Motorsport (16, 117 miles recorded) in March 2015 after which it was shipped to the UK, arriving in June 2015.
Re-registered on its original UK registration number in July 2015, the following month it went to renowned specialist Bob Houghton for service (including cam belts) at 16, 215 miles. Subsequent annual services were carried out at Maranello Egham and limited use was then had in advance of and during Covid before servicing and cam belts were again carried out in early 2021 at just 18, 048 miles. An interim service was carried out the following year following just 600 miles of additional use and it was taken off the road until earlier this year when it ventured to Official Ferrari Agent Meridien Modena for a comprehensive service (including cam belts) and today it reports a clean bill of health displaying just 18, 961 miles.
