A true slice of late ’70s motoring, this rare Cavalier Sportshatch 2. 0S Automatic turns heads wherever it goes. With its unmistakable fastback lines, genuine patina, and a stance that means business, this is a classic that stands out from the crowd.
Under the bonnet sits a strong-running engine fitted with a Weber carb and Malpassi fuel regulator for improved performance and reliability. Mechanically sound, it’s solid underneath with no welding ever needed — a rare find on a car of this age.
Lowered 50mm all round with Spax adjustable shocks on the rear, Bilsteins up front, and sitting on a set of banded steel wheels, it’s got a perfect period stance and plenty of attitude. It handles surprisingly well for a vintage hatch, and it’s ready to drive as-is.
It’s no show queen — the original paint carries a weathered, patina finish with some rust spots that haven’t worsened during my 5-year ownership. Interior shows the usual signs of age, and the speedo has stopped (currently reading just under 76k miles), but overall it’s solid and full of character.
Only used for meets and the occasional weekend blast, this car always pulls attention and starts conversations. Sadly, due to personal reasons, I’m just not using it enough and would prefer for someone else to enjoy it.

I bought this Cavalier because of its rarity and unmistakably cool looks — and it’s never disappointed. It’s one of those cars that just takes you back.
